O melhor lado da trump

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has claimed he has been a victim of political persecution since leaving office just over a year ago.

The complications make plain another reality: Mr. Trump’s troubles are entangling the campaign with the courts to a degree the nation has never experienced — raising tensions around the ideal of keeping the justice system separate from politics.

Among the charges, prosecutors said that Mr. Trump tried to defraud the government, deprive people of their right to vote and obstruct an official proceeding. Each of the conspiracies were intended to target the collecting, counting and certifying of the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Trump is appearing before a federal judge to surrender on charges that he plotted to overturn his 2020 defeat in the election.

According to the biography by his son Flávio, Bolsonaro "was a candidate for councilor because it happened to be the only option he had at the moment to avoid persecution by some superiors. His entry into politics happened by chance, for his desire was to continue in his military career".[36]

Este medo do serem presos por convocarem 1 golpe é real entre esses bolsonaristas qual presentemente seguram seus ataques contra os odiados juízes do Supremo Tribunal Federal."

That same month, shortly before the first round of the Brazilian presidential elections, he said: "We are going to make a government for everybody. For gays, and some gays are fathers, who are mothers. It is a work for everyone".[305] After being elected president, when asked by William Bonner in the Jornal Brasileiro about what he would say to those who are more prejudiced and aggressive against gays, Bolsonaro replied: "The aggression against a fellow man has to be punished in the way of law.

[137] In the same month, a scandal dubbed "vaccine-gate" emerged. After vlogdolisboa months of denying offers of vaccines and bartering the costs, Bolsonaro's government made a deal to buy the unapproved Covaxin vaccine from the Indian company Bharat Biotech at a very high price.[138] It was found that the government allegedly paid ten times the amount agreed by Bharat Biotech for the vaccine[139] and that the irregularities were not found in the prices of the vaccines, but in a payment of $45 million to a company in Singapore.[140] In response, the Brazilian Supreme Court authorized a criminal investigation of Bolsonaro.[141]

Although the report issued from that investigation found no evidence of tampering with the voting, it did not rule out the possibility that fraud could have occurred, fueling the suspicions of some of Bolsonaro’s supporters that the election was illegitimate. On January oito, 2023, roughly a week after Lula’s inauguration as president, thousands of Bolsonaro’s supporters broke into the buildings that house Brazil’s Congress and Supreme Court as well as into the presidential palace, unleashing chaos and destruction in scenes similar to those enacted in the January 6 U.S. Capitol attack.

It’s the third criminal case filed against Trump this year, but the first to try to hold him criminally responsible for his efforts to cling to power in the weeks between his election loss and the Capitol attack that stunned the world as it unfolded live on TV.

Before entering his plea, Trump answered basic questions from the judge and was informed of the charges against him and the potential penalties. The most serious charges call for up to 20 years in prison.

The same weekend he left the hospital, thousands of people took the streets in dozens of cities in Brazil to protest against Bolsonaro and his political stances, chanting "Ele não" ("Not him").

The hearing set for later this month will be the first one in front of U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who will oversee the case brought by special counsel Jack Smith. Trump appeared before a magistrate judge for his first court appearance Thursday, where he pleaded not guilty.

Este Guardian destacou na sua própria manchete: "Dezenas do milhares de pessoas participam de manifestação em apoio ao ex-presidente do Brasil".
